Dear Mr. Fischer,

yes MBDyn coupled with AeroDyn (12.58)  is able to simulate wind turbines in turbulent wind fields. The wind field is read by AeroDyn directly in various formats incl. TurbSim and Bladed wind files.
If you have already a MBDyn-AeroDyn wind turbine model, there is no particular difference in running the simulation with a turbulent or laminar wind field. We are using this quite a lot.

There is a Simulink interface available for MBDyn and has already been used to implement a wind turbine controller in a real-time environment: http://www.aero.polimi.it/mbdyn/mbdyn-rt/mbrtwind.html
I am not too familiar regarding this topic because we are using our own wind turbine controller implemented in native c++ code coupled to MBDyn using linux-sockets.

Dear all,

I am wondering whether MBDyn coupled with AeroDyn is able to simulate a wind turbine in a turbulent wind field. Is this possible? If yes, can someone point out how to do it? Moreover, it would be nice to know if an interface to a Simulink controller is available or could be added.
