[MBDyn-users] Real-Time execution

Support for POSIX-based real-time execution has been added. This allows
to schedule the execution of MBDyn with very high priority
(sched_setscheduler(2)) and fine-grained temporization
(clock_nanosleep(2)) using native OS functions.

This appears to be a bit more portable and flexible than using RTAI (no
need to patch and build a specific kernel, no need to load specific
kernel modules), at the cost of less accurate scheduling and risk of
preemption.

This does not mean that RTAI support will be abandoned; on the contrary,
it remains the favorite real-time scheduling for critical applications.

This feature will be released soon, possibly before the new year.

Cheers, p.
